Machinevertaling

Machine translation has historically had a bad reputation.  Many people associate it with the superficial, crude translations of Google Translate.  Nowadays, machine translation occupies a strong position in the world of translation thanks to Artificial Intelligence (AI) and neural networks. Technology has improved tremendously in recent years with more and better data and self-learning engines. Machine translation represents the optimal solution if price and speed are imperative for your project, which might be the case for a tender, for example.

At Interlingo, we use AI and machine translation when it is in the customer's interest, and only if it allows us to provide the level of quality that the customer demands, so that you only enjoy the benefits without suffering the drawbacks.

Human-standard output powered by AI

The ingenuity of modern-day machine translation lies in the use of statistical calculations, neural networks or Artificial Intelligence.  The machines have become quite experienced, which is continually elevating the quality of their output.  They are often even on a par with or better than human translations when it comes to less creative content. Our customers benefit, as automated translation helps us to translate better and more cost-efficiently. Raw machine translations without a check by a human translator ('post-edit') are only delivered to our clients after they have given us their consent to do so.

Post-editing machine translations

Strangely enough, in some cases raw machine translations can be the ideal solution. Consider e.g. perishable content intended for internal purposes only. Here, machine translations can save a lot of time and money, which sometimes represent the most important considerations for our clients. Whenever quality takes priority over speed and cost, we involve human translators. Either for the entire translation process, or for the final check to ensure human-standard quality. In both scenarios, the translation quality we deliver is beyond reproach.
