Effortless translation process for private individuals

Getting documents translated as a private individual can be a daunting task, especially if  you need a certified/sworn translation. Many translation agencies do not even offer this service, or it is done through an automated process, not allowing you to ask questions and not giving you any guarantees about the translation quality . At Interlingo, we do things differently...

Every request is handled with care and you can always turn to us with any questions. Just send us your - scanned - documents, explain what kind of translation you need and we will quickly send you a quote and delivery time. After receiving the go-ahead, we send you an invoice and start the translation process after receiving payment. We always use experienced native speakers of the target language, familiar with the subject matter.

You will receive the translated document back within the agreed deadline. Sworn, with apostille or legalised, all types of certified translation (see explanation video below) are possible. The process is simple and transparent.

Request a quote  for translation

Interlingo offers top-nodge quality at great rates. Request a quote and you will receive our quotation within 24 hours. Please send us a scanned version of your hard-copy source document if that is all you have available.

So what is certified or sworn translation?

Just to clear up a misunderstanding: many people think that a sworn translator is someone who has the right credentials as a translations, ie has a quality certification of some sort, which is not the case. A sworn translator is someone who is registered with the register of sworn translators and interpreters with the Dutch government. These translators have taken an oath, and only they are allowed to swear (certify) translations. This is how a sworn translator certifies a translation:

  • The translator makes the translation based on the source document. When it is ready, the document is printed out.

  • The translator also makes sure the source document is printed out, or they take the original hard copy.

  • The translator then signs a statement stating that the text has been translated truthfully.

  • The three sets of documents are attached to each other and the whole set of documents constitutes the sworn translation.

Did you know that a translation can be even more official, for example by adding an apostille or legalisation? See how this works in the video below (English subtitles availabe via the cog icon).
